Summary:

Substitute current manual systems of track of machinery and tool transactions at Pine Bluff Arsenal with automated system (RFID) that can verify machinery and equipment, track portable tooling, determine preventive maintenance and manage machinery and tooling data more efficiently
Unique identification (UID) is a fast growing automatic data collection area which uses laser, radio wave and wireless communication to uniquely identify objects. A considerable amount of time and money is being spent for tool and machine maintenance and accountability. the current manual system of keeping track of machinery and tool transaction is inefficient. The sponsors desires to automate data entry, verifying machinery and equipment, tracking portable tooling, determining preventive maintenance and calibration schedules, and managing machinery and tooling data more effectively. Errors lead to incorrect storage and improper maintenance of machinery items resulting in a number of breakdowns, misplaced items and information inaccuracies.
