This project designs a user friendly Storage Load Building Tool at The Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) at McAlester, OK to confugure the storage for a desired set of pallets, to save significant time and preserve resources.
This work outlines the requirements to produce a functional, web-based interactive tool to extend the capabilities developed earlier for container loading, to ammunition storage facility design with best possible loading patterns, and also to truck/rail loading.
The sources of the information used to populate this tool would include, but not be limited to, databases such as Joint hazard Classification System (JHCS), Conventional Ammunition Packaging and Unit Load Data Index (CAPULDI), as well as Joint Service ammunition catalog data.
Best utilization of storage areas ? Efficient material handling. Meets hazard/space use requirements. Efficient and fast calculation for storage procedures and layout for multiple item sizes.
