Summary:

This project proposes to develop a quarterly Index to be known as the CELDi/CAPS Index that will track the availability and utilization of transportation capacity. The aim of the index is to monitor trends in the overall supply chains of different industry segments. The availability of such an index would allow the shippers to benchmark their logistics practices, while aiding economists and decision makers in better predicting market trends. We believe that the availability, dissemination and use of the proposed index would give CELDi national name recognition.
