Tha main objective of this project is to convert Mallinckrodt Baker’s home grown distribution system to a standardized Enterprise Resource Planning system with the benefits standardizing the company on a global platform, staying up to date with industry standards while incorporating best practices, creating a global supply chain, to increase sales and growth, and providing platform any future acquisitions
Avantor Performance Materials, formerly Mallinckrodt Baker, is a specialty chemical manufacturing company which was founded in 1867. The company expanded through several mergers and acquisitions, now a $500 million global company serving pharmaceutical, laboratory and microelectronics industries
Mallinckrodt Baker started with a homegrown distribution management system. As the company grew, the system needed more add-ons. To complete everyday tasks there are many work-around and a large learning curve for such an involved system was needed.
Understanding the current business processes permits to know the impact on our operations/supply chains resulting from a new ERP system.
Able to better select an appropriate vendor/system —and to anticipate problems before they occur during implementation.
Added a depth of understanding that will surely permit a successful systems conversion.
