Summary:

The goal of the research is to determine how to use a cell phone based probe system to generate useful Origin – Destination (OD) matrices. The research question to be investigated is outlined below.

Given the current conditions in terms of road speeds and past road speeds, how can we predict what the speeds will be in an hour or so? Approaches that can be tried include modeling demands, neural networks, and nearest neighbor matching to historical data.
