Keynote Speaker April 10th, 2023: Edwin Keh

Mr Edwin Keh is the CEO of The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel. He also teaches supply chain operations in the Operations, Information and Decisions Department of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Until April 2010 Edwin was the SVP COO of Wal-Mart Global Procurement. Prior to Wal-Mart Edwin managed a consulting group that has done work for companies on supply chain, manufacturing, and product design. The practice also did work for non-profit organizations and charities. Edwin co-founded the Consortium for Operational Excellence in Greater China (COER GC) sponsored by the Wharton School and Tsinghua University.

Edwin had a career as senior executive with several international consumer goods and retail companies. He also worked for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

Edwin is on the advisory board of multiple social enterprises and NGOs and was served on the Board of Whittier College, CA and the Expert Panel of H&M Foundation’s Global Change Award for year 2018 & 2019.

Edwin was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2020 by the HKSAR Government for his research work during the pandemic.  He was named the best of Top 50 Innovative Retail Leaders by Inside Retail Hong Kong in 2019 and is on the Debrett’s Hong Kong 100 as one of the most influential people in Technology and Digital sector, and a recipient of the Production and Operations Management Society’s Excellence in Production and Operations Management Practice Award. Edwin holds multiple IPs which won global invention awards.

Keynote Speaker April 11th, 2023: Dan Vanden Brink

Dan has over 25 years of experience in analytics and supply chain management across several industry verticals. Dan began his career as an engineer in industry supporting manufacturing initiatives and developing operational strategy. After 10 years in Industry, Dan moved into a consulting role focused on Supply Chain Strategy, Forecasting, Planning, and Execution working with a variety of the leading Supply Chain Technology Companies including Blue Yonder and Oracle. In 2005, Dan joined LogicTools as the Vice President of Consulting, a company founded by David Simchi-Levi from MIT to commercialize ideas developed in research labs. At LogicTools, Dan led the deployment of supply chain planning capabilities for Fortune 500 companies utilizing advanced optimization and analytics technologies. Through a series of acquisitions, first by ILOG and then by IBM, Dan led IBM’s Worldwide Optimization and Supply Chain Team and was a key member of the team driving and commercializing the Smarter Planet Initiatives at IBM. In 2014 Dan moved back into industry working at Schneider National as the Vice President of Engineering and Analytics. During his tenure at Schneider, Dan led a team of 50 analytics and OR professionals driving over $60M in savings to the operations by applying advanced analytics across supply chain planning, forecasting, dispatch, revenue management, and hr analytics. Dan’s team was recently a finalist for Innovation in Analytics award and the Wagner Prize from the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) for the application of analytics. Recently, Dan moved back into the technology sector in 2019 as an executive at LLamasoft helping customers realize value through the application of the advanced decisioning technology found in llama.ai. Currently, Dan is a Partner at Decision Spot, a company leading the develop of AI and optimization-based solutions to create the next generation of supply chain planning, monitoring, and execution solutions. 

Dan did he undergraduate studies at Iowa State University where he graduated in industrial Engineering and IIT where he graduated with a Masters in Operations Research and also served as an Adjunct Professor while working towards his PhD. Dan has presented at a variety of professional societies and universities including INFORMS, APICS, CSCMP, Ohio State University, University of Illinois, West Virginia University, IIT, and Iowa State.
